This Sunday, I had the privilege of attending PHP Conference Japan 2024, held at Ota City Industrial Plaza PiO, Tokyo. Running from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, the event featured multiple tracks, workshops, and social gatherings, making it a remarkable experience filled with insightful talks, cutting-edge technologies, and an energetic community of developers passionate about PHP and its ecosystem.

Engaging Sessions

The conference featured a variety of sessions catering to different skill levels and interests. Here are a few that stood out for me:

  • Options to run PHP on AWS’s Lambda: Rinchoku presented a nice session on running PHP on AWS’s Lambda using ServerLesss
  • Asynchronous PHP with ReactPHP: Florian Engelhardt explored asynchronous programming using ReactPHP.
  • WebSocket server made in PHP ~To know reactive applications: Shiro Kiyoie’s session on WebSocket server made in PHP.
  • Upgrade to Laravel 11, will it be finished in 15 minutes!?: Takuya Katsusa’s Laravel 11 upgrade session was interesting.
  • Scaling Applications with PHP: Insights into building scalable applications and handling millions of requests per second.

I also participated in a couple of code review tests and quizzes.
